Celebrated Antiguan pannist Victor “Babu” Samuel has died.
His family said in a statement that he passed at 4:20pm today.
Samuel was 64 and had been ill for some time.
The Office of the Prime Minister said: We express our deepest condolences to the family of renowned pannist Victor “Babu” Samuel who passed away today.

Tributes continue to pour in for pan doyen Victor ‘Babu’ Samuel who died on Tuesday at the age of 64.
ABS News had spoken with Samuel in March of this year as he battled his illness.
He had reflected on his storied career and expressed stoic determination to remain positive despite the odds.
