The musician of the group “Opus Pro” has gone to eternity on Monday morning Oleg Andreev or “Alex”, Kristine Komarovska, a representative of the artist’s relatives, informed LETA.
The musician was born on October 10, 1962 in Daugavpils. Andrejev has been at the core of the band Opus Pro since 1986 with guitarist and songwriter Harijs Zariņš. The group was established in 1986.
Komarovska pointed out that Opus Pro was one of the most popular Latvian groups in the 1980s and 1990s. In the early 1990s, Andrejevs also worked in the United States as part of the Latvian group Riga. In 2011, after a long break, he returned to the stage, after that he actively collaborated with the former member of the group Zariņš, his daughter Aija Andrejeva, as well as actively performed as part of “Opus Pro”.
He has participated in the recordings of the albums “Family”, “I am going to steal you”, “You and I”, “Story No. 13”. In 2015, some of Andrejev’s songs were originally included in Zariņš’s album “Love Rock Ballads”.
25 years later, in 2015, the album “Riga in America” recorded in the USA in 1990 was released by the group “Riga”, in the creation of which the artist participated together with Ainars Virgs, Uldis Marhilēvičs, Igo and Guntis Vecgailis.
Komarovska said that information about saying goodbye to the musician will be disseminated in the coming days.
Oleg’s daughter, a Latvian singer Aija Andrejeva, on the Instagram website today, December 27, posted the sad news.
