It is a humble tribute to our appreciated friend, colleague, spouse and founder of Promessa, Susanne Wiigh-Mäsak, who passed away on September 1st in her home country, Sweden.
During the last year Susanne fought cancer, though with her usual positivism and always with words of encouragement for others.
Almost 25 years ago, Susanne realized what her mission in life was going to be. As a biologist, she knew the science behind the organic circle of life and intelligently she connected her knowledge within biology with the funeral industry. She realized that at the end we are all organic matter, so she could not pass on the opportunity to do something really good for the planet and for the people, by helping the funeral industry truly understand and adhering to the sacred circle of life.
Susanne founded the company Promessa 19 years ago. Since then she has been dedicated in body and soul to spread the word of her respectful and environmentally friendly burial method, Promession®. She attended and spoke at trade-shows and exhibitions, at conferences such as Idea City and TEDx, not to forget all the interviews she gave to journalist from countries all around the word. She researched, designed, developed and tested the technical equipment with her husband Peter, who is also a biologist. She met with and talked to investors, funeral homes, governments, administrations and churches in many countries on all continents, but no other country became as close to her heart as her beloved South Korea. Susanne didn’t only focus on the traditionally important corporate contacts, but dedicated time to personally answer emails coming from individual Promessa Friends from more than 100 countries. Her last years were focused on selecting and training Promessa Representatives and Ambassadors, to continue the mission to launch the environmentally friendly and climate smart solution that Promession is. There were good and difficult times, but true to her nature, Susanne always managed to have a positive answer and a lot of patience.
Susanne has left us a great legacy in the advancement and improvement that Promession provides to our environment, our society and individuals. A legacy that we, together with you and everybody else who wants a sustainable alternative, are committed to turn into a reality, not only for Susanne, but for ourselves, for you, and for the planet.
Susanne would have liked to be a gift back to nature, her wish couldn't be fully met, but let's work on so that it is a reality for others.
We will miss you a lot, dearest Susanne.

Querido amigo de Promessa,
Este boletín de septiembre de 2020 es muy especial. Es un humilde tributo a nuestra apreciada amiga, colega, esposa y fundadora de Promessa, Susanne Wiigh-Mäsak, que falleció el 1 de septiembre en su país natal, Suecia. Durante el último año Susanne luchó contra el cáncer, aunque con su habitual positivismo y siempre con palabras de aliento para los demás.
Hace casi 25 años, Susanne se dio cuenta de cuál iba a ser su misión en la vida. Como bióloga, conocía la ciencia que hay detrás del círculo orgánico de la vida y conectó inteligentemente sus conocimientos de biología con la industria funeraria. Se dio cuenta de que al final todos somos materia orgánica, por lo que no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de hacer algo realmente bueno para el planeta y para la gente, ayudando a la industria funeraria a realmente comprender y adherirse al círculo sagrado de la vida.
Susanne fundó la organización Promessa hace 19 años. Desde entonces se ha dedicado en cuerpo y alma a difundir su respetuoso y ecológico método de entierro, Promession®. Asistió y habló en ferias y exposiciones, en conferencias como Idea City y TEDx, sin olvidar las entrevistas que concedió a periodistas de todo el mundo. Ella investigó, diseñó, desarrolló y probó el equipo técnico con su marido Peter, que también es biólogo. Se reunió y habló con inversores, funerarias, gobiernos, administraciones e iglesias de muchos países de todos los continentes, pero ningún otro país se acercó tanto a su corazón como su amada Corea del Sur. Susanne no sólo se centró en los tradicionalmente importantes contactos corporativos, sino que dedicó tiempo a responder personalmente a los correos electrónicos de los Amigos de Promessa de más de 100 países. Sus últimos años se centraron en la selección y formación de los representantes y embajadores de Promessa, para continuar con la misión de lanzar la solución ecológica e inteligente para el clima que es Promession. Hubo momentos buenos y difíciles, pero fiel a su naturaleza, Susanne siempre se las arregló para tener una respuesta positiva y mucha paciencia.
Susanne nos ha dejado un gran legado en el avance y la mejora que Promession proporciona a nuestro medio ambiente, nuestra sociedad y los individuos. Un legado que nosotros, junto contigo y todos los demás que quieren una alternativa sostenible, nos comprometemos a convertir en una realidad, no sólo para Susanne, sino para nosotros mismos, para ti y para el planeta.
A Susanne le hubiera gustado ser un regalo para la naturaleza, su deseo no se pudo cumplir plenamente, pero trabajemos para que sea una realidad para los demás.
Te echaremos mucho de menos, querida Susanne.
