Family members as well as fellow De Soto fire department members attend Lt. Ronald W. Wehlage Jr.’s funeral in St. Lucas Cemetery on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Wehlage, 40, of the De Soto Rural Fire Protection District, died Sunday, June 28, from a heart attack. He had fought a Jefferson County house fire, caused by lightning, the previous night. Wehlage was honored with a service reserved for firefighters who died in the line of duty.
