There's a lot to take in in this new Cold War Steve collage.

An enormous new piece of art has been erected in Piccadilly Gardens, depicting a burning planet populated by all the major news stories of 2020.

From the Black Lives Matter movement to the US presidential election to Covid-19, 'Death to 2020' captures it all in one collage.

The piece comes from famed artist and satirist Cold War Steve and has appeared at the bottom of Lever Street.

The clever collage towers several storeys above street level and sums up what a wild year 2020 has been.

The focal point of the giant art work is a huge Covid molecule, burning in a skip.

Also dominating the scene is Donald Trump swinging a golf club, the devastating Beirut explosion, and a swarm of riot police.

With bats flying overhead in the dystopian image and a pangolin in the foreground (the scaly animal has been linked to the spread of Covid-19), as well as a plague doctor, coronavirus is a running theme throughout.

Doctor Birx, who hit headlines for cringing as Donald Trump suggested injecting disinfectant, is pictured.

The conspiracy theory that Bill Gates is using the vaccine to inject people with microchips gets a nod, as does the 'Covid is a hoax' protesters.

Another viral story, where Rudy Giuliani's hair dye appeared to melt down his face, sits at the top of the collage.

In the political field, we see the Trump campaign's much-mocked mistake that led to a press conference being hosted in front of the Four Seasons garden centre, rather than the luxury hotel.

Lady Gaga is pictured in a 'Joe' sweatshirt alongside the president-elect himself, while Melania Trump strolls across the scene with a suitcase in hand.

Then to the world of entertainment - Elton John's disastrous performance of I'm Still Standing, the A-listers joining together to sing Imagine, the cast of Schitt's Creek and even a tiny Tiger King have been included.

Harvey Weinstein walks along what appears to be the River Styx, Mike Pence contemplates life with a fly on his head, and Boris Johnson and the Queen chat over a giant Zoom call.

Cold War Steve has always hidden an image of Cilla Black in his collages - we've yet to spot her in this one.

You can see the huge collage in the flesh at the bottom of Lever Street, near Piccadilly Gardens.
